Freezes for Firemen!
Col. Arthur Smith has donated
aan electric refrigerator to the
Tryon Volunteer Fireman for their
club, kitchen. The Firemen have
club rooms upstairs in the Town
office building right over the fire
trucks. Their club quarters in
clude kitchenette, dining table,
ehairs, beds, pool tables and oth
er equipment that add much to
their comfort and entertainment.
They volunteer their services to
the community without pav and
the equipment such as dishes,
chairs, stove, tables, linen, radio,
etc. have been donated by friends
who think of them from time to
time. So when ever you have
something etra that you don’t need
but don’t want to destroy, donate
it to the Volunteer Fire depart
ment. They will eventually need
it either for their club room or for
some distressed family who have
lost by fire.

On Thursday
Fried chicken, home baked ham,
coe slaw, fried Irish potatoes,
rolls, sandwiches, ice tea or coffee
and home made ice cream are on
the menu of the Picnic Supper to
be served by the Baptist women
at Harmon Field on Thursday ev
ening from 6:30 to 8. The public
is invited to * come and eat and
help the church building fund.
Adults .will he served for 50c a
plate and children for 25c a plate.
Anyone desiring transportation to
Harmon Field may telephone M>s.
R. H. Brady. Added features will
include music, old time singing and
good fellowship.

Rotary Program.
The Rotary club will meet on
Friday at 1 p. m. at Stonnydale
Log Cabin. The program will be
in charge of James B. Hester and
the guest speaker will be R. M.
