Est 1-31-28 TRYON, N C., TUESDAY, JULY 11, 1939 Boys’ Club Activities By Club Reporter The members of the Tryon Boys’ 'Nclub are malftng excelent progress /in their various activities. All the boys are very enthusiastic about their work. They are eager to get started on their work each day. A number of exercises hav& been finished in handicraft activi ties. The morale of the club is 100 percent. The boys will go on an over night oamp at Green River Cove on Wednesday night. Mt. H. L. Arledge and M!r. C. M. Eargle and Ben Fisher have kindly volunteer ed their services and the trans portation to help the toys 6n this trip. Instructions will be given in camp cooking, sanitation, and oth er activities necessary for an over night’s oamp. The boys are look ing forward to this trip with much interest. On Tuesday afternoon the Boys’ club softball team will play their / "N third game of the season with the y Bushwhackers team. On Thursday afternoon they will play the Soumerco team. The Boys’ club is taking much interest; in their softball team and a large group of parents and in terested friends have been attend ing each game to cheer them on their wiay. At the end of the third week of the club we find each group very enthusiastic about the num ber of points they have won. Group number four is leading with 61 points to their credit; groups number one and two are tied for second place, each having 47 points. Group number five holds fourth place with 30 points and —Continued on Back Page Many Spartans Are to Visit Baby Hospital Many Spatrans are expected to take part in the annual pilgrim age to the Spartanbug County Baby Hospital at Saluda, N. C., Thursday. The event, which is held n nually, gives friends of the insti tution an opportunity to see and understand the work which is be ing conducted. Plans for the event are in charge of a committee, under the direction of J. G. Floyd. All attending the event are asked to arrive at the hospital as near 6 o’clock
