Inman, S.C., July 13.—A watch, lost nine years ago, has been re turned to Marvin Jackson of In man. Vi nen a group was discussing watches here, a man pulled a watch out of his pocket and offered it for inspection. Jackson thought he recognized the timepiece and asked to see it. The watch was the one given to him by his grandfather and valued as a heirloom. In the back of the watch case was his grand father’s initials. The man, returning the watch to Jackson, said one of his sons had found the time piece several years ago in the roalroad tracks. ELECTRIC EEL New York.—The electric eel, one of the exhibits of the New York Zoological Society at the New York World’s Fair, is capable of deliv ering an electrical impulse of 400 volts for 1-1000 of a second or 110 volts for one minute. The past June was the warmest in the state ns a whole since 1914 and rainfall during the month was considerably below normal especially in the Piedmont area. Meteorologist G. C. Merchant of the U. S. Weather bureau reported today. The monthly mean for the sec tion was 80.6 degrees, 3.1 degrees above the normal and the average rainfall of 58 stations reporting was 4.07 inches, .67 inch below normal, Merchant said.
