The Landrum Terrors defeated
IrW*he Ball-the-Jacks at Harmon
Field by a score of 10 to 5 in a
hard fought game.
Today
The Soumerco team plays the
Bushwhackers this afternoop at
6:30 at Harmon Field.
Wednesday
Ball-the-Jacks and Soumerco will
r lay at Harmon Field at 6:30. All
these games are free to the pub
lic.

KIWANIS THURSDAY
The inter-dub meeting of the
Tryon, Hendersonville, Ruther
fordton and Greer dubs. will be
held on Thursday night at Oak
Hall hotel at 7:15 o’clock. Each
club will contribute about five
minutes each to the entertainment
of the evening. Club songs and
a spirit of fun will dominate the
meeting. The ladfes have been in
vited and indications noint to an
attendance of about 125 people.
Old timers are amazed at the
many new faces seen on Trade
street and in the stores this sum
mer. Tryon is growing, but the old
friendly spirit is the same. The
theatre has good crowds, the soft
ball games are drawing good at
tendances/ and there is always
somebody fishing, swimming, play
ing golf, tennis, bridge and other
games, also numerous picnics and
programs to interest according to
taste .... Mlrs. Etva Smith is
now* at West Jefferson and is tak
ing The Bulletin .... Congress
man Zeb Weaver knew that Con
gress was adjourning so one of the
first things he did was to have his
Bulletin changed from Washing
ton to Asheville .... Judge Miller
C. Foster of Spartanburg who
went to Washington in the Com
merce Department under Secretary
Roper was due to join his family
at Lake Lanier during the week
end. Judge Foster has been in
charge of the government investi
gations of airplane crashes
