The bridesmaids were Mrs.
James B. Andrews, Mrs. Curtis
Alexander Arledge, Mrs. Wofford
A. Foster, Miss -Ruth Andrews,
Miss Margie Frances Capps and
Miss Patricia Slagle. They wore
pastel shades including lavender,
green, blue, yellow, acquamarine
and pink. Their dresses were
made like the matron of honor’s,
and they all carried arm bouquets
of garden flowers with matching
ribbons.
The ushers were Willard C.
Thayer of Alton, 111., Curtisy Alex
ander Arledge, Wofford A. Foster,
Walter C. Newman, James C. Kin
loch and Mitchell P. Andrews, Jr.
The bride’s mother wore acqua
marine lace over taffeta and her
corsage was of gardenias.
Following the ceremony an in
formal reception was held at the
home of the bride for relatives
and the wedding party. The
house was decorated with garden
flowers. The attractive punch
bowl was made of “ice with grapes
frozen into it. Ice cream was
served with the wedding cake.
The bride wore for her going
away a rose pink dress and hat
with blue a ''•cssories, rnd a cor
rage of gardenias. Following a
rhort motor trip Mr. ..and Mrs.
Collum will be at home 'in Duluth,
Minnesota.
Out-of-town guests here for the
ceremony included Mir. and Mrs.
Willard C. Thayer and two sons.
Bob and Ernest, of Alton, 111.;
Miss Ida Missildine and MKss Ethel
D. Bender of Kirkwood, Mo.; Mrs.
Bertha G. Goodrich of Cambridge.
Mass., and Mir. Henry A. Collum of
Duluth, Minn.
Mrs. Collum is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. E. E. Missildine.
She was the valedictorian of the
Tryon high school class of 1932
and since 1934 has been connected
with Mhssildine’s Pharmacy, and
for the past four years was the
Trvon correspondent of the Ashe
ville Citizen-Times and the Spar
-1 mburg Herald-Journal. A tai
nted and conscientious writer she
has faithfully represented the
spirit of the community to the out
side world in her daily news
messages.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. Henry Collum of Duluth,
Minn., with whom the couple will
make their home.
Rev. and Mrs. Chas. B. Tram
mel of Troy were in Polk Tues
day visiting friends.
H. D. Allred wants a job. He
has been packing and shipping
fruit. Can do any kind of garden
ing and yard work, car polishing,
