Polk County Jury Finds Shelnutt Guilty Appeal Expected to Be Taken By Defendant. Harold Lee Shelnutt, former ac countant and bookkeeper for the firm of Jackson & Jackson, Inc., Tiyon firm, was found guilty late Friday afternoon on the charge of forgery by a jury that deliberated a little more than two hours after hearing evidence for three days. Shelnutt was charged with so-y - the name of the senior mem ber of the firm, J. N. Jackson, t-j checks against the firm's bank ac counts in Tennessee and in New York City banks. Superior court, presided over by Judge Wilson Warlick of Catawba county, was recessed until Mon day when the attorneys for the defense indicated that an appeal would be taken. Shelnutt was re leased on a bond of $5,000. Shelnutt, former owner of Sunqydale, local recreation center, and of a large hotel in Saluda, N.
