C., TUESDAY, SEPT. 5, 1939 Bushwhackers Win First Ball Game The first game of the softball series fed to the on Tdbnday after noon when they defeated the Kilo watters by a score of 16 to 6. The second game will he played this afternoon at Harmon Field starting around 6 o’clock on account of the shortening of daylight time. If the Bushwhackers win today’s game it will end the series. If they lose the deciding game will be played on Wednesday. The score by innings was as follows: Bushwhackers 601 011 7—16 Kilowatters 200 100 3 6 Battery for the Bushwhackers: Robert Dick and W. Nessmith; for the Kilowatters, K. Arledge and A. Walker. Four umpires will supervise the game this afternoon and the larg est crowd of the season is expected to see it. Destroyed By Deputy Weaver A 70-gallon steamer type distill ing outfit was destroyed early this mornintr on Green River near the Coxe Plantation. The outfit was in operation when discovered, but the operators had disappeared. A small amount of beer was poured out, according to Weaver. San Jose, Costa Rica, Sept. 4.
