Owen’s Pharmacy Just Telephone 2 0 2 “The Prescription Store” Miss Elizabeth Cooper Is Chosen Apple Festival Queen Voting for the Queen of the Saluda Apple Festival resulted in a very large majority of votes for Elizabeth Cooper, who was duly acclaimed Queen and crowned with beautiful ceremony at the school gym on Saturday night. Gene Brandon, of Jacksonville, Fla., was the clerical representative who placed the crown on the Queen's head and Fairchild Sonner her con sort. The royal pair were pre ceded by two small heralds, Chas. Haffenden and Jack Ward, and Ladies and Gentlemen-in-Waiting as follows: Eunice Sonner, Betty Jo Thompson, Margaret Hart. Euva Pace and Eunice Pace; Ross Cary-Elwes, Olin Hall, Frank Mc- Carson, Jack Pace, J. C. Thomp son. Mrs. A. Mi. Bushnell, as dowager queen also preceded their majesties; she was herself a regal and dignified personage in a love ly evening dress and tiara. Queen Elizabeth is one of the prettiest of the Apple Show Queens and was beautiful in her royal robes. After the coronation the small son and daughter of H. A. Nabers, Buddy, and Beverly, were a quaint pair of little dancers who enter tained their majesties with fancy dancing, very skillfully done. General dancing with music furnished by Brookshire Bros, band followed. The gym was decorated in grand style with colored streamers and bright lights. Altogether the oc casion was most successful. Rev. H. Cary-Elwes preached his farewell sermon to the congrega tion of the Episcopal church on Sunday morning. He has accepted a call to the chaplaincy of the Transfiguration Community at Glandale, Ohio. —S'aluda News. TRYON MOTOR CO.
