In order to get the fans better acquainted with the players a few pictures of the Tryon boys have been placed on a poster in Missildine’s window. These do not represent the entire squad and later on another group will be shown. A summary of the team shows Taylor and Alex Beatson at end, with Cooksey, Bradley, and Cartee as reserves. The tackle positions are well fortified with big Homer Shields and Bill Swann able to take care of things with the help of Parker and Rhodes. There are six men out for guard. Seth Vin ing and H. O. MteCallister have had experience at this position while Coon, Derby, Pratt, and Hilton are new. Locke MlcGeachy, the third of a series of brothers to play center seems capable of holding down the pivot place with Pace being an understudy. The back field seems to be in better shape this year than in previous years with an array of eight men. Green, Jones, and Dutton Beatson are triple threat men with previous experience. The fourth back field place will come out of Melton, Beatson, Wall, Cooper and Holbert. All these men will probably see action in the opening game with Inman Friday, September 22, at Harmon Field.
