Cooper of Saluda reports that Polk’s moun tain resort had a nice season of summer visitors. The attractive long green benches on the wide sidewalks in Saluda remind you or Hendersonville and St. Peters burg, Fla., and the visitors enjoy using them. The war in Europe should prevent a lot of foreign travel and bring more visitors to Tryon this winter and Saluda next summer .... Missildine’s Pharmacy is putting in a new soda fountain. Trade street is certain ly undergoing a lot of changes to make the business angle more at tractive. The new bank building may not be colossal or stupendeous, but no one can deny that it isn’t the most modern and one of the most attractive for its purpose to be found anywhere. It is really a good show just to look at and peep through the door whether you have money or not. It makes you feel good to know that some people have made money and managed so efficiently that they can erect such a nice building for all the com munity to enjoy .... Now, that really was a great picture at Try on Theatre last night and a num ber of the people who saw it be fore enjoyed it a second time.
