Est. 1-31-28 Saluda Apples On Display In Tryon Windows Saluda prize waning apples right from the Apple Show are now on display at the Mountain and Blue Ridge Weav psrs. There . are 22 varieties of these beautiful apples on display. They are from the orchards of K. J. Davis of Saluda. After the apples have been on display for a few days they will be presented to .St. Luke’s hospital. County Agent J. A. Wilson, who assisted in putting on the show in Saluda, brought the apples to Tryon. Training School Opens Third Time Tonight The Interdenominational Religi ous Training School will hold its third session tonight at 7:30 at the Tryon First Baptist church. The interesting lectures by Dr. Charles G. Sewall speaking on his tory, poetry and fiction and those by Dr. Hunter of Converse college xon “How to Teach” are drawing Blarge crowds of people from all ” over this section, and the church last week was full to the front seats. Meeting Do you have any problems in dealing with your children? The Tryon Parent-Teacher Association will attempt to help members solve these problems at the meeting on Monday, October 16th, at 3:30, when Dr. George Farrand Taylor will lead the dircussion of the topic, “The Everyday Problems that Are to be Met by Parents and Teachers.” Visitors and mem bers are requested to write their questions on a slip of paper and drop them in a box at the door as they enter the meeting. The ques tions need not be signed. Dr. Taylor will take the questions up and discuss them at the meeting. Davidson Rites Today Funeral services for Jessie Louise Davidson, nine-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Davidson, who died of pneumonia early Monday morning, will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Tryon Miethodist church with the pastor, Rev. G. F. Hood, officiating. The pallbearers will be N. L. Wilson, Dean Shields, Wil liam Shields and Herbert Butler. Interment in Tryon cemetery.
