Hender son has an opening in the federal government for junior graduate nurses. Salary $1,620 a year .... Julian Hester has a copy of the Try on Bee, published on Wednes day, March 7, 1900. The editor was George E. Morton. H. R. Goodell, now of Memphis and at present a subscriber to the Tryon Daily Bulletin, was correspondent from Spartanburg to the Bee and wrote that Spartanburg was to have its first exclusive ladies’ shop established by Miss C. M. Camp bell of New York City. Miss Campbell is now in Tryon. Mayor Mlissildine and Clerk Wm. E. .Strong had signed an ordinance that made it unlawful for anyone jump on or off trains at the Potion unless they were passen gers or employees. The Lanier library notes had a note of thanks to Mts. Lanier for her donation of Sidney’s music book and poetry. There was a movement on foot to establish a telephone line connect- Tryon, Lynn, and Columbus. Geo. Dutton, brother of Mrs. Beatson died and was taken back to his birthplace, in New Hampshire for burial. Deacon John Orr was Supt. Congregational S. S., Rev. T. B. Justice, pastor of the Baptist church, Rev. J. D. Carpenter of the Methodist and Rev. Chas. Fer ris, rector of the Episcopal. S. Green. Harry Hunt, of the firm states that their new quarters will be more convenient for their customers, especially the travelling public wishing infor mation. Otis W. Brady Funeral services will be held on Thursday for Otis W. Brady, vet eran Spartanburg county law en forcement officer, who passed away at Duncan, S. C., on Tuesday. Mir. Brady was born and reared in Spartanburg county. He made his home in Landrum for several years. Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, the former Lucy Edwards; five sons, Melvin Brady, policeman for the town of Landrum, and Joe Brady, Howard Brady, Edward Brady and Otis Brady, Jr., all of Duncan; five daughters, Mrs. Cov rinne Lanford of Saxon, Mrs. Drusilla Copeland of Landrum, Mrs. Georg’e Swain of Inman, Mrs. Edith Rhymer of Campobollo and Miss Ethel Brady of Duncan; his mother; three brothers, O. L. Brady, chief of Spartanburg coun tv detectives, James Brady of Landrum and R. H. Brady of Tryon, N. C.; and one sister, Mts. Edward Bagwell of Landrum.
