Bowling The Bushwhackers defeated The Cops Monday night in a duck pin match at the local alleys by 157 Bushwhackers as follows: Martin 397; Honneman 411; Dick, 345; total 1837. INSURANCE The Federal Crop Insurance Cor poration has forecast that during the second war of its operation more than 300.000 insurance con tracts on the 1940 wheat crop will be in force. TRTON, N. C., WEDNESDAY, OCT. 25, 1939 Hallowe’en Carnival at Saluda, October 31st The Saluda school is sponsoring a Hallowe’en Carnival on Tues day, October 31st, at 2 p. m., and 7:30 p. m. Admission, five cents to everybody, to be used for the benefit of the school. Come and enjoy the fun, frolic and festivi ties. TRAIN HITS CAR R. B. Williams, Polk County Forset Warden, was in St. Luke’s hospital Tuesday and Wednesday suffering a broken left wrist and minor injuries as the result of the Carolina Special hitting his auto mobile at Waters’ crossing above the Country club on Tuesday noon. The rear end of the auto was bad ly damaged. Rotary Governor Here For Friday Meeting District Governor Joseph R. Sandifer of the 190th Rotary In ternational District, will make an official visit to the Tryon Rotary club on Friday at 1 p. m., at Sunnydale Log Cabin. Governor Sandifer is president of the Blue Ridge School for Boys at Hender sonville and is well-known in this section. His last official visit here was during the summer when he attended the dedication service at the Piedmont Boy Scout camn when a Scout cabin built by the Hickory Rotary club was dedicated to the late Watt Shuford. first president of the Hickory Rotary club.
