Dear Mr. Vining: I have just had a ietter from Tryon which contained some clip pings fiom the Bulletin, one of them to the effect that the Waiter Hills were marooned hi Bermuda, unable to get a ship back. I don’t know when this was published, but I would very much like to know where you got your information as it as just 100% incorrect! The Walter Hills were not marooned nor has anyone else been unable to get passage back to the States for more than a few days. You are probably unaware how much damage your statement could do, but I wish you would make some amends for it. Bermu da is still as lovely and peaceful as ever and a delightful spot to spend a vacation. There is no food shortage and visitors are desired as usual. We now have the “Nieuw Amsterdam,” the Hol land-America line flagships, run ning down here once a week so that passage is assured. In other words, Bermuda is most anxious to welcome visitors and there is no reason why people cannot have just as pleasant a time here as usual.
