“PRATTLINGS” .... Ghosts
and goblins reigned supreme at
the Hallowe’en party Saturday
night. Jimmy Jackson was the
ehief ghost and was awarded first
priz-e in the high school division
for his. costume - which consisted ot
a sheet and 1 a mask. Honorable
mention was given to Claudia
Helms and to Jean Derby. In the
grammar grade contest Joe Chap
man of Spartanburg, won with a
“Popeye” costume. Honorable
mention was awarded to Rubv
Hayes and Edna Faye Morgan.
Bobby Williams was the winner in
the primary department. In the
corn flake eating contest Harrison
Bridgeman and Floyd Phillips of
the Fifth grade woo. Royal Ford
also of the Fifth grade won the
balloon and apple bobbing contests.
Bill Coon( Eighth grade, won the
milk drinking contest for the'
second year .... When the Tryon
football team went to Canton an
outstanding thing was the good
sportsmanship shown Sy Canton
players. So far this year the Try
on team has won three games and
