The Tryon-Saluda high football
team smothered Valley Springs
high yesterday at Harmon Field
and brought their victories up to
four for the season. The visiting
team presented a neat passing
attack which was good for short
gains but could never click con
sistently. Their closest approach
to the Tryon goal was the twenty
yard line. In contrast the Tryon
team racked up their forty points
by passes, end runs, and line
plunges. The first touchdown
came when Green skirted end for
thirty yards to score standing
up. The second tally for the locals
was made by Ed Beatson over
center. This small back be'ng a

game and will develop into a great
player if he keeps up at his pres
ent rate. No more scoring was
made during the first half and
Tryon-Saluda left the field thir
teen points ahead. At the begin
ning of the second half, the local
team began to gather steam and
' Green broke off left tackle, cut
back to the right and galloped 60
yards to score. Within the next
minute, Dutton Beatson tossed a
pass to Green who ran 40 yards
for another touchdown. Altogeth
er Green racked up twenty-eight
points during the three quarters
which he played. The final touch
down was made by Andrews, one
of the midget backs, who tips the
scales at 118. This small back fol
lowed his interference 20 yards
around left end and proceeded to
outrun the entire fie’d for a touch-
