Burts, prominent child welfare official of Spartan burg will address the Tryon Par ent-Teacher association on Monday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the school auditorium. The public is inv ted to hear her. Dr. Burts received her Philosophy degree from New York University. She is a director of the Saluda Baby hos pital and of the Spartanburg Re creation parks. She has been ac tively engaged in all phases of young people’s work and her sub ject in Tryon on MVmday will be “Enjoying Our Children.” Mary Lillian Taylor Little Mary Lillian Taylor, three year-old daughter of Mir. and Mrs. J. W;. Taylor, died on Thursday afternoon after an illness of sev eral davs. Funeral services will be' held this afternoon at 3 o’clock at the residence with’ the pastor, the Rev. B. G. Henry, of the First Baptist church, officiating. The pallbearers Jack Ford, W. M. Ballew, Birch Arledge and N. L. Wilson. Besides her parents the deceas ed is survived by one sister, Miss Lavinia Taylor, and two brothers, Harold and Seth Taylor. C., FRIDAY, NOV. Tryon*Saluda Flays Waynesville Today The Tryon-Saluda football team tackles their strongest;'opponents tonight at 7:30 on the' Waynesville high field. The local team is eager to give the stronger Waynesville eleven a good battle, and there is always the chance of winning. Sk> far Tryon. Saluda has won four games and lost three. Around 50 Tryon people attended the Canton-Tryon-Saluda game, but Waynesville is farther away and as it is, the local crowd is ex pected to be smaller. Successful Party The Parent - Teacher annual bridge-games party was a success ful event on Wednesday evening at the Parish House when approxi mately $44 was raised to help carry on the work of the organization this year. Many attractive prizes were given to .the. high scorers at each table. The Parish Hall was beautifully decorated with autumn leaves and flowers. Delicious re freshments were served following the games. The chairmen in charge of the event were Mrs> B. G. Henry .and Jtfiss Elisabeth. Wat son of the .Ways and Means >and of the Social committee Mrs. W. A. Schilletter and Mrs. R. H. Millikin.
