Four Boys Will Receive Highest Scout Rank Four Tryon Boy Stouts, Laugh lin McGeachy, Bill Derby, James Chapman Jackson and George Dewey Cooksey 'will receive the Eagle rank, the highest rank in Scouting tonight at 7:30 at the Parish House at the Polk County Boy Scout Court of Honor which will be presided over by Dr. C. a Arthur Lincoln, chairman. The Sjjf public is invited. Mrs. Mary Shehan Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Shehan, 51, of Polk county were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Sandy Plains Presbyterian church by the pastor, the Rev. A. T. Willis. Mrs. Shehan, in ill health for a number of years, died early Sun day morning. She is survived by her husband, Lee Shehan, also of Polk county; one sister, Mrs. Gazey Jones; three brothers, Thomas and Onzo Tessener of the Sandy Plains sec tion of Polk county and William Tessner of the Cooner’s Gap com munity of Polk countv. C., a student at Maryville col lege, Maryville, Tenn., won the first prize, a pair of Jarman Shoes by guessing 16 winners out of 20 games listed from all over the United States. H. H. Thompson and J. Frank Richardson are tied for second place with 15 success ful guesses out of 20. They will draw, and the loser will automati cally rece ve third prize. There were 317 people entered in the contest; and entry blanks came from. Bulletin readers in several states including Georgia Tech, At lanta, Landrum, Spartanburg, In man and Laurens in South Caro lina, Maryville in Tennessee, Co lumbus, Lynn. Saluda, Henderson ville, Asheville, Forest City, Bur lington, High Point, Banner Elk and Tryon in this state. Mize picked the following win ners: Duke over Carolina. N. C. State over Furman.
