Maggie McClure Mrs. Maggie McClure, 63, widow .of Furman McClure of Tryon, died her sleep. sometime Satur day night. Mlrs. McClure, who was visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sailie Hill, in the Green River sect.on of Polk County, was found dead in bed by members of the household early Sunday morning. Mrs. McClure is survived by one daughter, Mjrs. Sailie Hill, Mill Spring, routs 3; one sister, Miss Lettie Foster of Greer: five half-brothers and one half-s ; ster. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p. m. at the Fairrview Baptist church, two miles west of Landrum, with the pastor, ,the Rev. Tom Reid and the Rev. D. Mi. Mc- Geachy of Tryon officiating. Former County Commissioner Os Rutherford Dies j Rutherfordton, N. C. Nov. 26. Funeral services for J. Hulon Hill, 61, will be held at the First Bap tist church of Spindala Monday at 3 p. m. Burial will follow in Rutherfordton cemetery. He died in the Presbyterian hospital, Char lotte, at 6 o’clock th : s morning, fol lowing an extended illness. He was formerly county commissioner of Rutherford, mail carrier on route two from here many years and wap a deacon of the church. War is no Joke, but Russia is accusing Finland of attacking her. C., MjONDAY, At The Christmas Bazaar , December 6 All the features which have proved so popular at past Christ mas Bazaars of the St. Agnes Guild, and some added attractions, are promised for this year’s JBazaar to be held Wednesday, December 6, at the Parish House. Christmas shoppers will find many unusual articles, and many practical ones on the various tables that are being prepared by the ladies of the Guild. All sorts of silvered flowers, de corative leaves, berries, and pine cones, suitable for table adornment or for use in decorating the home, will be offered for sale. There will be a grab bag for adults as well as children; and the table of White Elephants—but not white elephants to you, will pro vide the usual wide diversritv of articles suitable for gifts—mabe the very thing you have been look ing for for years. And fancy gifts—there will be all kinds of things, not to mention an ingenious folding ironing board, several of them, that is absolutely indispensable for traveling. Something very new will be the cotton basket, a sensation at a Georgia Bazaar. It’s a miniature cotton picking basket, Georgia style, filled with towels, wash cloths, etc. Paper in many practicable forms, Place mats and decorated paper for gift wrapping—will be for sale at a separate table.
