The cause for this extra sniffing of the tourist as well as residents along the road was the wreck of a heavily loaded beer truck plying out of Asheville. The truck loaded with a full cargo of beer and wine failed to make a sharp curve on the highway just out of the city limits and crashed into the guard fence demolishing the truck as well as the fence and spilling hundreds of bottles of beer and wine on to the concrete. Neither the driver nor the one other occupant of the truck was injured with the exception of a few minor scratches. The wreck still occupied half the highway at a late hour Mbnday night and the driver and helper were keeping a watchful eye over the few bottles of beverage that remained un broken.—J. E. J.
