Dedman, the foreman, is watching
it perform and smiles with great
satisfaction; but the greatest
pleasure is given to Here ’N’ Yon
der Johnson, for to him has been
falling the job of keeping the old
press working. Leon Green, who
has been feeding the old press by
hand says the new one is the
cutest thing he ever saw
Thanks to George Cathey, he
brought us a beautiful begonia
plant as a gift from our friend,
Patterson, the florist, at Shelby, N.
C. Patterson's nursery and flower
gardens are among the most pro
gressive in south and they ship
flowers wholesale from Ohio to
® rector, who installed the Bulletin
press, likes Tryon so well he would
like to live here .... Isn’t this
grand spring weather? ... A num
ber of beautiful trees have been
decorated for Christmas in the
yards of homes along Miarkham
Road, Melrose avenue, Saluda high
way, Lynn road, Godshaw Hill . . .

Dividends for Christmas
The Tryon Federal Savings &
Loan Association has made its an
nual dividend payments to 123 in
vestors who shared in dividends
amounting to $3,377.92. Os that
amount $246.86 was returned to
add to their thrift savings account.
In addition to giving a lot of
Christmas money to people in this
section, the local association has
furnished a safe place for the in
vestment of savings with insurance
protection up to $5,000. The officers
of the local association are F. P.
Bacon, president; W. S. Green,
vice-president; Mi. R. McCown,
secretary - treasurer; Julian B.
Hester, Walter C. Hill, directors.
Kiwanis Program Tuesday
The Tryon Kiwanis club will
have its annual toy program on
Tuesday at 1 p. m„, at Hotel Tryon.
the program will be in charge of
K. A. Bowen. Each member will
bring toys for presentation to
other members accompanied by a
lot of fun. Afterwards the toys
will be put in the Kiwanis cheer
baskets going to needy families
with little children.
SANTA CLAUS COMING
Santa Claus in his regular cos
tume will come to Tryon for a
few minutes on Saturday and
rarade on Trade street for the bene
fit of all the children who wish
to see him. Whether he will ride
in an automobile, horseback or
carriage is not known at present.
