County Employees To Enjoy Three Days Polk County Commissioners have enabled all county employees to enjoy three holidays in succession by giving them Christmas Day which is on Mionday and also Sat urday, Dec. 23rd. . As they have Sunday anyway, the two holidays joined with Sunday gives three days for visits, etc. All county offices will be closed Saturday and Mionday. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Ware and son, Robert Timmis Ware, of Charleston, West Virginia, have arrived for a two weeks’ visit with Mr. Ware’s mother, Mrs. W. R. Condict, and Mr. Condict. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Tryon Presbyterian church will meet on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 with Mjrs. G. I. Henderson at her home on Lincourt Drive. A special Christmas program, “Joy Gifts for His Mtessengers” will be presented. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Polk, nee Virginia Brand, are spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. M,. B. Flynn at Little Orchard while en route to New York from Palm Beach where they spent their honeymoon. Miss A. Velleman of New York City will spend the holidays here as the guest of Mrs. H. C. Metcalf. Anson Merrick, George Aid, and Frank Turner have arrived home for the holidays from the Uni versity of North Carolina at Chap el Hill. Miss Mildred Nash, student at Anderson college, Anderson, S. C., is home for the holidays with her mother, Mrs. M. L. Nash. Nelson Jackson, Jr., has re turned from an extended business trip in the North and West.
