Pea Ridge Yields Another Officers Scoggins and Foster of the sheriff’s department early this morning destroyed another steamer type distillery in the Pea Ridge section only a short distance away from the place where another large outfit was cut over the weekend. Although the plant was not in op eration at the time of the officers’ raid, ashes under the steamer drum were still warm, and the water inside the drum gave off clouds of steam as it was opened. The outfit, located just off the Moore road, consisted of nineteen 50 gallon mash barrels, some of them filled; several smaller kegs for whiskey, and the three barrels that comprised the boiler part of the still. The 19 mash barrels were buried to their rim to protect the contents from freezing, and reouired almost two hours for the officers to dislodge and demolish them. A small amount of whiskey was poured out. Closed Thursday The post office and Tryon and Landrum Banks will be closed on Thursday, February 22nd,' in cele bration of George Washington’s birthday.
