It’s worth it, even though I hope that some of that time I may be in Tryon, to be able to keep up with doings there and to hear tidings of friends and acquaintances. You also have some good foreign correspondence. I was sorry to hear of Miss Agnes Campbell’s death and wish that some one who knew her longer than I might have put on record some testimony to her remarkable character. No one seemed to know how old she was but to her friends that was only a matter of minor moment for she was one of the most youthful persons in her mind that I've been lucky enough to meet. She could not only reminisce about the distant past with great interest (but speculate about the future and consider the present with the same unfailing wit and wisdom. Her range of interests was wide; she had read and travelled widely; was a good gardener and chess player; a loyal supporter of her church, and a good neighbor. For, after all, I suppose her greatest interest was in people; no manner of them was outside her interest and svmpathy and I sus r»ect the Recording Angel knows more about, her good deeds than any mortal has known or will k*iow.
