Barber, lecturer and teacher or the prin ciples of health and right living, in the quarter century he has devoted to this woi*k. Dr. Barker is coming to Tryon on March 13th to make three ad dresses the first at the chapel period at Tryon school; the sec ond at the Rotary club at 1 p. m., at Sunnydale and the third at 8 p. m., at the Parish House. This last will be a mass meeting to which all the people of this sec tion are invited. These meetings are under the auspices of the Tryon Rotary club and are free -to all. Dr. Barker Holds university de grees as doctor of hygiene and physcial culture. While William Taft was president of the United State, Dr. Barker spent an hour a day with him, keeping him fit for his job. Then began his lecture work devoted to the young people of the United States and Canada and to their parents. Millions of high-school students and their mothers and fathers have listened to his addresses on the problems of youth and parent hood. Since going on the lecture plat form he has delivered over 11,000 addresses. Tryon high school boys have won all their County games but most of them have been by very close margins. In the County Tournament started Wednesday at Tryon the Tryon boys defeated Saluda by the close score of 22-20 and Green Creek girls defeated Columbus girls 15 to 9. At Green Creek on Thursday night Sunny View girls defeated Saluda girls 23 to 21, and the Columbus boys defeated Green Creek boys 19 to 17. Tonight Friday at Staluda gym the losing Saluda girls will play the losing Stearns girls and the winning Stearns boys will play the Sunny View boys. The winner of this boys’ contest will play Tryon at Columbus on. Saturday night; and the winning Green Creek girls will play the winning Sunny View girls.
