Est. 1-31-28 TRYON, N C., SATURDAY, MAR. 30, 1940 Baseball League for This Section An organization meeting of the tW Western North Carolina Industrial League to promote local baseball in this region was held on Friday night in Asheville and the follow ing communities joined the league: Adams-Millis of Tryon; Brevard, Ecusta, Sayles Bleachery, Beacon Mills, Enka, Canton, Hazelwood. A schedule for these eight teams will be announced in a few days. The opening date has been set for April 27th. Kiwanis Tuesday Dr.. B. B. Bishop, Jr., will be in charge of the Tryon Kiwanis program on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Hotel Tryon. Rotarians Honor ffßoy Scouts The Tryon Rotary club invited the Tryon Boy Scout Troop No. 1 to a luncheon meeting on Friday at 1 p. m., at Sunnydale Log Cabin. The Stouts were alternated be tween Rotarians around the “U” shaped table with President E. Perry Mlanville, presiding. Senator F. P. Bacon, a pioneer Tryon Scouter, had charge of the pro gram. Scoutmaster W. A. Schil letter told of the work done by local Stouts, and introduced the members of the local troop in groups according to their rank.
