Filed for Polk Offices
As the names of candidates for
the office of Register of Deeds were
through error in Monday’s
the entire corrected list
is reprinted as follows:
Forty-one candidates filed to en
ter the May 25th primary for the
several county offices to be filled in
Polk County in the General elec
tion this fall.
According to Roy T. Baisden,
chairman of the Polk County Board
of Elections, the following candi
dates had paid their filing fees as
the books were closed for the pri
mary:
For Representative, James E.
Johnson, Carroll P. Rogers and T.
J. McDowell, Democrats; George B.
Logan, C. Wilbur McGinnis. Geo.
C. Dedmondt and John M. Shytle,
Republicans.

The Navy thinks the Tryon Daily
Bulletin is 4.0 (meaning the best).
. . . Cracker is the name of the
new male airedale puppy recently
acquired from Mrs. G. Calhoun by
Mrs. Trowbridge. Lefty Flynn who
had ordered the pup, released it
to Mrs. Trowbridge to take the
place of Billy who was killed by
a truck last week. Cracker is a
son of Billy. . . . Dogs, horses,
flowers and trees are important in
the life of Tryon . . . John Lucas
of Leatherwood Farms, Bluefield,
Va., has established nice quarters
at Harmon Field for the Horse
Show period. He has an attractive
office and equipment on the field,
and has taken six stalls for his
horses. Golden Sensation won sec
ond place at the Madison Square
Garden show, and is expected to
win the five-gaited championship
