Since that gsage observation was made the dogs have had their day, and so have the horses. The trees are with us every day the year round, so comes now the day of the flowers. It will be Friday, April 26, the day of the Annual Spring Flower Show of the Tryon Garden Club. The place: Episcopal Church Par ish House. The time: 3 to 6:30 p.m. It is.-a backward season. Flowers have been scared to death to come out for a bloom, but they have clone so anyway. If you travel around the Sbuth today, you will note that Tryon blooms are better advanced than most places, so the Flower Show General Chairman Mrs. Harkness Smith, is confident that her committeewomen and mem bers of the Garden Club will be with a fine display of and flower arrangements when the show is opened Friday afternoon. The entire flower show will be encompassed by a garden wall, thus materializing the theme of this year’s show—“ Over the Gar den Wall L ; es Peace,” just about the one place on earth today where there is peace. The judges of the various class es, of flower arrangement, etc., have been chosen and have accept ed. They are: Mrs. Edward M. Gwathmev of S'partanburg; Mrs. George Rush of Greenwood, Mrs. W. L. G. MacKensie of Spartan- Continved on Back Page Wednesday: 11:15 a. m., “Blame It On Love” at Tryon Theatre. Free admission. Garden Tour will visit Pear son’s Falls Glen and the Ju lian Calhoun garden in Tryon from 10 a. m., to 6 p. m. Horse Show committee chair men meet at 8 p. m., at Stonny dale. At the Parish House, 8 p. m. motion pictures of Alaska (“America’s Last Frontier”) will be shown by John E. Burleson, founder of the So ciety tor Visual Religious edu cation. Public invited. Travel scenes of the Yukon, Klondike and possibilities of develop ment will be shown. Friday: Rotary at 1 p. m., at Sunny dale. Rev. Chas. L. McGavern in charge of program. 3 to 6:30 p. m., Flower Show at Parish House. Admission 25 cents. 8 p. m., at Lanier Library. Christian Science lecture b Charles V. Winn, C. S. 8., of Pasadena, Caiif. Public invited. 8 p. m., at Tryon school. Recital of Mrs. Jones’ Music pupils. Public invited. The movie, “Blame It On Love,” will last only one hour from 10:15 to 11:15 on Wednesday morning at Tryon Theatre, according t) Manager K. A. Bowen of the Duke Pow;r Company which is sponsor ing the entertaining pregram. Mr. Bowen states that the show is very good and should be Interesting to everyone. The balcony will be re served for the colored people as usual. Admission is free.
