The play was directed by Miss Myrtle Baldwin, class teach er, and the staging was attractive ly and effectively arranged. Miss Ethel Rpshing as the former wife of Judge Dorset, stole the show, and the students were pleased with the performance of Charles Ford as Stuffy, a gangster’s henchman. Sixteen Seniors took part in pro ducing the play. Democratic Precincts To Meet This Afternoon All Democratic precincts in North Carolina will meet today. There will be 1,912 such meetings. Six of them will be in Polk Coun ty at 3 p. m. The meeting in Try on will be held at the voting place in the old Town Hall on Maple street. The purpose of the meet ing today will be to elect five pre cinct committeemen, one of whom must be a woman. This committee will elect the precinct chairman, vice-chairman and secretary. The precinct meeting will also elect 37 deletes to the County Con vention which meets next week, Saturday, May 11th, in Columbus Court House at 2 p. m. Delegates are more important this time than usual on account of the third term angle. Under a compromise plan Governor Hoey has been won over to help swing the North Carolina delegation to Roosevelt.
