The Tryon Cham ber of Commerce mailed out a bunch of this material this mora ine. It is hoped that the County and Tryon and Saluda Chambers of Commerce and anv others in terested can pet together and put out an attractive folder with pic tures that would show up to ad vantage the points of interest all over the County, so a prospective citizen can get a better idea of what the County has to offer. One prospect might want a good farm in Green Creek and look at the mountains from a distance; anoth er may want to live tight in the fountains from Saluda to Tryon .--A Columbus to Mlill Spring to Cooper’s Gap, or down to Land rum and points in upper South Carolina. Just so we get the right kind of people in this section and make them happv should be the aim of us all. Vice-President J. T. Arledge of the Tryon Chamber of Commerce hopes to have such a folder sometime this year .... S. Green was re-elected chairman of the Polk County Demo cratic Executive Committee on Saturday at the first meeting of the re-organization on Saturday at Columbus. Mrs. Stisan Cra'ig of Saluda, vice-chairman; D. S. Blois, of Tryon, secretary. The County Democratic conven tion which met at 2 p. m., in the Court House elected R. M. Hall as convention chairman and D. S. Blois as secretary. A resolution committee was ap pointed consisting of J. T. Ar ledge, chairman, G. C. Feagan, M. R. McCown, E. B. Cloud, Roy Baisden, A. A. Thompson, W“ H. Ledbetter. The convention adopt ed resolutions endorsing Roosle velt for the third term, approv ing of the County, State and Na tional administrations; also one demanding a reappointment of rep resentatives and urged the Wes tern North Carolina voters to vote for candidates from the west. Dr. Green, the chairman, em phasized the responsibility of the democratic party in the world crisis and in the management of State and local affairs, because the Democrats are in the majority.
