Perkins News was received in Tryon jLdhis morning of the sudden death pof James H. Perkins at his Green wich, Conn., home last night. Mr. Perkins who had been recuperat ing at his Tryon home for several months following a serious illness had returned to his office in New York only a few weeks ago, and took over his work as chairman of the board of the National City Bank of New York. Mr. Perkins was born at Miil ton. Mass., on July 11, 1876. He married Katrine Parkman Cool idge of Boston on November 22, 1906. He is survived by Mirs. Perkins and three children, Mrs. Franklin Parker, Jr., (Eleanor H.), Richard S. Perkins and Miss Elizabeth Joan Perkins, all of Greenwich and Tryon. Mr. Perkins, who was known to many Tryon friends as “Jim” .and loved for his friendly neigh borly spirit, built a home in the "Hunting Country near here about two years ago and planned to re tire there and ride his hobby of raising turkeys, and to enjoy horseback riding. He had built his stables and turkey farm and was getting the estate in shape when death overtook him. He was the kind “Yankee” friend the Bulletin mentioned on Thursdav, who loved us so well that he sent money here for worthy causes from time to time, but didn’t want his name mentioned.
