Sayre at the Tryon Country club during the weekend they had a score of 7 up on par and a handicap of 11. Second place was tied between F. S. C., MONDAY, JULY 22. 1940 WOMAN ENDS HER LIFE WITH SHOTGUN CHARGE Funeral rites for Mrs. Ira Prit chard, 23, of the Pea Ridge section of this county were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Interment was in the Byars family cemetery near by- Mrs. Pritchard, according to officers, used a single barrel shot gun to end her life in the front yard of their home late Saturday afternoon in the presence of sever al relatives. The charge from the gun entered just below the heart and caused almost instant death. No cause for the act was known. At the inquest held at Columbus later in the afternoon, the coroner’s jury returned a verdict of fl ‘death by self-inflicted wounds.” An adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boney Connor of Mill Spring she is also survived by her hus band and several foster brothers and sisters. AT KIWANIS TUESDAY C. M. Howes will be in charge of the Tryon Kiwanis club program on Tuesday at 1 p. m. Dwight Smith will be the guest reader. Presbyterian Society The women’s Auxiliary of the Tryon Presbyterian church will meet on Tuesday at 4 p. m. with Mrs. D. M. McGeachy. The pro gram will be in charge of Mrs J. S. Kell.
