The qualifying round for the Tryon Country Club golf cham pionship will be held this weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday m:i flights of eight, according to E. Rowe of the tournament com mittee. Taxes Advertised Property of all persons who have not paid their 1930 Polk County taxes will be advertised in this week’s issue of the Polk County News. If you are not sure you have paid your taxes, buy a copy of The News and see if your name is printed. About 1,000 people have not paid their counts taxes for last year and the county is forced to sell the property to collect the taxes. PALMER AT ROTARY Dr. M. C. Palmer will be in charge of the Tryon Rotary Club program on Friday at 1 p. m., at Log Cabin. Avant-Caldwell Wedding Will Be Held Today The wedding of Miss Elizabeth Avant and Mr. Marcus Caldwell will be held this evening at 6:30 at the Erskine Memorial church. The Kilpirs have left Canada to visit the World’s Fair and Princeton . . . Miss K. b. Hamilton has moved from Connecticut to Greensboro, Vermont .... Mrs. Da Bois Knight leaves Dorset, Vermont, today and will be in Tryon soon .... Miss Hope Washburn, who has been at tending summer school at Middle bufy, Vt., will leave next week . . . Lieut. Theo Kerhulas, who has been studying military at Ft. Benning, Ga., has-been assigned to one of the hotttest regiments in the f’rmv—the 29th regiment a Ft. Benning . . Everybody re marks about how fast summer is slipping away. That's because we have been busy and interested. There has been a lot of things do ing this summer; a lot of going and coming, small parties, golf tournaments, road building, house building, war news, political con ventions, and this and that . . . .
