tantism, He will deal somewhat
with the “Concordat” which
been proposed as a basis of re
union between the Presbyterian
and Episcopal churches. “The de
sirability of the agreement”, the
New York Times reports, “has been
a matter of argument for manv
months. Bishop Manning of New
York is approving and so are
prominent laymen and women. Dr.
Merrill, the author of ‘Rise Up 0
Men''of God’, who is probably on--
of the most outstanding of Pres
byterians is back of the movement ”
Dr. Taylor will deal with th 1
principal objection to the plan as
proposed by the Episcopalians,
namely the doctrine of apostolic
succession, and what the real mean
ing behind that doctrine is. It is
said that the “Concordat” is strik
ing snags among both churches but
that the wish for union will prob
ably find some other proposal wh'c’’
will command assent of bo h
churches.
