C., FRIDAY, AUG. 30, 1940 Tryon School Opens Monday, Sept. 2 The Tryon Graded school will open for the 1940-41 session at 9 o’clock on Monday morning, Sept. 2. On this day all pupils are re quested to report to their respec tive class rooms. They will march from there to the auditorium for a short opening exercise. After the program the pupils will return to their class rooms to receive a schedule of work, book list, and lesson assignments. All pupils entering the school for the first time, except First grade pupils, are asked to please register at the superintendent’s office on Friday morning, Aug. 30 between the hours of 9 and 12 a. m. All pupils should be classified and assigned to grades before the school opens. The program will be as follows: Song, “America” by the Audience Invocation, Rev. D. M. Song, “Onward, Christian Sold iers", by the Audience Auxiliary to Meet Monday The September meeting of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Church of the Holy Cross will be held at the home of Miss Helen Stearns and Miss Mary Carpenter on Stept -2 at 3:30 p. m. Mfiss Edith Allen will continue the study of the Ma dras conference as touching the Church and World Relations. Visiting Auxiliary members will be welcome.
