TRYON, N C.,
ABOUT FRIENDS
On the woman’s page in the
Christian Science Mbnitor of Oc
tober 11, is a feature article about
Myra Hess, noted concert pianist,
and a photo of her and Mrs. Reg
inald Grenfell, daughter of Mrs.
M. B. Flynn of Tryon. In speak
ing of a noted group meeting the
artic e says: “Joyce Grenfell was
there too. She helps in the can
teen and is a great friend of
Myra Hess’s. She is a niece of
Lord Astor and" a star on her own
account. She made her reputation
overnight, as it were, in Herbert
Farjeon’s ‘Little Review’. And
that’s quite an interesting story.
For Mr. Farjeon saw her enter
taining some friends at a private
house, and then and theme asked
her to come into his review—which,
after some hesitation, she did.”
