Est. 1-31-28 Jackson-Bunte Wedding On Tuesday Evening Plans are all complete for the wedding of Miss Rachel Jackson and Mr. Louis Bunte on Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock at the Erskine Memorial Congregational church. The date is the anniversary of the wedding of the bride’s maternal grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. James Chamnan, of Spartan burg. The little rock church is being decorated with Southern smilax, Woodwardia ferns, white chrysan themums. The Rev. C. Arthur Lincoln, the bride’s pastor will perform the ceremony. Mr. William Bradley, organist, of Spartanburg, will play the wedding music and Mrs. E. M. Putney of Atlanta, sister of the bridegroom, will sing. Miss Sibylla Pringle -of Atlanta will be the maid-of-honor and Mrs. Marion Chapman of Rock Hill, S. C., the matron-of-honor. The bridesmaids are Miss Lois Avant of Tryon, Miss Betty Chapman of Spartanburg and Miss Mickey Henkle of Honolulu, Hawaii. Mr. Bunte will have as his best man, his brother-in-law, Mr. El more M. Putney, of Atlanta. The ushers are Alan Calhoun, John L. Brown, Nelson Jackson, 3rd, all of Tryon and Pete Hebert of Raleigh. JOE PRICE Mrs. Lou Ella Price, 70, died at her home in Mill Spring commu nity early Sunday morning. She had been in declining health for several years. Ftmeral services were conducted at the Big Level Baptist church this afternoon at 1 o’clock. The Rev. Dewey Hodge officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The survivors include one daugh ter, Mirs. Clarence Steppe and several grandchildren; also seven sisters, Mrs. Ransom Nanney of Black Mountain, Mrs. A. T. Jones of Campobello, Mrs. C. V. Elliott of Columbus, Mrs. Harvey White sides, Mrs. L. C. Gibbs, Mrs. T. L. Wommack and Miss Minnie Ruppe, all of Mill Spring; and two brothers, James Ruppe of Landrum and Roland Ruppe of Mill Spring. Kiwanis Tuesday Dr. J. E. Derby will be in charge of the Tryon Kiwanis club program on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Hotel Tryon. Country Club Officers To Meet Wednesday The officers and directors of the Tryon Country Club will meet on Wednesday night at 8 o’clock at the Club House. Mrs. Harkness Smith won a blue ribbon at the Hendersonville Hobby Show week for having the most outstanding exhibit made by ex hibitor (a hooked wall piece) and Mrs. George A. Cathey won a red ribbon for second most outstanding exhibit not made by exhibitor (a 200 year old spread). lc PER copy
