Vining, Editor Vol. 13. Est. 1-31-28 Bunte-Jackson Miss Rachel Chapman Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Jackson, Jr., and Mr. Louis Bunte, j#,on of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Edward ? VBunte of Marshall, Mo., were mar ried on Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock at the Erskine Memorial Congregational church with the pastor, Dr. C. Arthur Lincoln, officiating. The church was decorated with large standards of woodwardia fern and southern smilax, two large baskets of white chrysanthemums and five standards of seven branched candelabra. Family pews were marked with bouquets of white chrysanthemums tied with ribbons. A program of wedding music was presented by William Bradley of Spartanburg, organist, and Mrs. E. M. Putney of Atlanta, sis ter of the bridegroom, soloist. Be fore the ceremony the selections heard included Wagner’s “Pil- Chorus,” Bach’s “Jesu, Joy l-jr Man’s Desiring,” “Reverie,” by Walter Spry, former teacher of the bride, “Andante Cantabile” by Tschaikowsky, vocal solo, “Thank God for a Garden,” by Del Riego, Schubert’s “Ave Maria”, and an other solo, “For You Alone.” “0 Perfect Love” was played during the ceremony, and Wagner’s wed ding march wa3 used as the pro cessional and Mendelssohn’s as the recessional. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a period gown of candlelight satin, with fit ting basque waist, sweetheart neckline, long tight, leg-o’mutton sleeves very full skirt and flaring train. Derby was in charge of the Tryon Kiwanis club pro gram on Tuesday at 1 p. m. and spoke in part on the dental and medical professions and their re action to socialized medicine. The program next week will be in charge of Dr. B. B. Bishop. Visit ing Kiwanians included Herbert Thatcher of Chattanooga, J. E. Shipman and F. A. Barber of Hen dersonville, all three past presi dents of their clubs. Immediately after the meeting Seth M. Vining was re-elected secretary by the board of directors. President J. A. Wilson and Sam Dobson will be absent next week while attending an agriculture program meeting at Statesville. Dr. C. Arthur Lin coln the vice-president will preside. Country Club Directors Will Meet Tonight The officers and directors of the Tryon Country Club will meet to night at 8 o’clock at the club re ception room. TRYON HOUNDS WIN The Tryon Hounds entered sev eral dogs Tuesday in the hound show at Morganton and Melody, owned bv the local club, took first place for best female dog of the show. Rotary Meets Friday Douglas S l . Blois will be in charge of the Tryon Rotary club program on Friday at 1 p. m., at Sunnydale Log Cabin. The Boy Scout Court of Honor will meet on Monday night at 7:30 at the Parish House. lc PER COPY
