Navy and Air service in order for the home folk to keep in touch with them and in order for the local men m the service to keep in touch with one another. When a reader gets a letter from a sailor or soldier he is requested to mail any notes of public inter est to the Bulletin in care of “Jerry”. For example it is in teresting to note that Thomas Blackwell, U. S. N., who made the first touchdown for Tryon’s foot ball team is now on a Pacific island. Bill Byers enlisted recent ly at San Antonio, Texas, Lieut. Kerhulas is at Ft. Benning, Please write the Bulletin the dresses of all Polk County ser vice men so copies of the Bulletin cards and letters mav be mailed to them by friends. Wesley Mize who is now at Ft. Jackson, Co lumbia, S. C., wrote recently that a letter from friends was great lv appreciated by the men in the service. Walter Newman and Bruce Byers are also at Ft. Jack son. Mlajor W.
