The game started off with Try on taking the lead and knocking at the goal line twice in the first quarter only to lose the hall when the backs sloped in the open. The Marshall team was unable to threaten until after the locals scored on Jack Melton’s dash around left end. The extra point was secured on a clever end-skirt by Dutton Beatson. At the middle of the second quarter, Homer Shields, Tryon’s star tackle receiv ed a knee injury and was forced from the game. His presence was sorely missed and possibly led to the visitors being able to score late in the fourth quarter by line plunges. The play of the Tryon team dM not seem up to par with the backs being weak on blocking and allow ing the opposition to sift thru. The line was slow in charging and at time looked ragged in tackling. The light condition of the Tryon souad, however, slowed it up con siderably on wet ground. The game was also marred by numer ous penalties. lc PER COPY
