With the termina tion on Saturday, of the skeet shoot held on the Waler C. Hill property, the Mobile Canteen Fund reached a total of SI6OO, which is SIOO in excess of its goal. A check for SISOO has been sent by Mayor Missildine to the Chase National Bank in New York to be forwarded to Mrs. Ronald Tree in England, for the purchase of a Mobile Canteen, the gift of the people of Polk County to the peo ple of England. The SIOO sur plus will be given to the Tryon Workroom of the British War Relief Society for the purchase of warm garment material for the homeless. Once again the people of this community have demon strated their sympathy for the suffering of their fellow man and have given expression to it in a practical sense for the Mobile !
