ENTERED AS SECOND-CLASS MATTER AUGUST 20, 1928, AT THE POST OFFICE AT TRYON, N. C. UNDER THE ACT OF CONGRESS, MARCH 3, 1879 ©re frgon Sails) bulletin lc per copy (The World's Smallest Daily Newspaper) lc per copy Seth M. Vining, Editor $1.60 Year in the Carolinas Vol. 13. Est. 1-31-28 CALL FOR AID The Tryon Workroom Commit tee has received an urgent plea from the New York headquarters Pf the British War Relief Sbciety dr more and more warm cloth ing for the civilian population, es pecially those who have lost all their belongings. Tryon has re sponded generously to the first call for clothes but there is a dearth of men’s clothing and Britain, facing a winter that will tax all her strength, has a very desperate need of warm jackets, overcoats, sweaters and suits. The answer to her plea for aid should supersede everything else and it is to be hoped that the men of this com munity wMI respond as generously as the women did. Every home must surely contain a discarded jacket or lounging robe, sweaters or suit. A staff of volunteer workers is eagerly awaiting the chance to repair such garments. I Won’t you please make your dona fcon today to the Tryon work room, over the A&P store? There is also an acute need for sweaters and scarves, and the wool for knitting these articles is ava lable at the workrooms at any time. Even the most elementary beginner can make a scarf. Those who have any problems in knit ting sweaters can consult Mrs. Harwood, who will be at the workrooms every Monday, Wed nesday and Friday from 10 to 12. On Friday afternoons the work rooms will be closed to the regu lar staff of workers but will be open to a group that will concen trate on cutting garment material for the following week.
