TRYON FIRST GRADE
PROGRAM WEDNESDAY
The First grade pupils of the
Tryon school under the direction
of their teachers Miss Sue John
son and Mrs. V. T. Barnette will
present the playlet, “The Arrival
of Santa”, Wednesday, Dec. 11, at
12 o’clock in the school auditorium.
On the stage at first will be
seen Laura Ann Nanney, Billy
S'chilletter and Ray Melton read
ing a long letter to Santa. Pres
ently Santa, played by Volney
Barnette, Jr., arrives, but at the
front door and without his pack,
much to the surprise of the chil
dren. He tells the children that
he has lost the Spirit of Christ
mas • because children everywhere
have become so selfish and that
he can’t give any toys until he
finds it. The children promise to
help him find the Spirit; but are
very much puzzled since it is
something that can’t be seen. How
ever, with' the aid of some of
their schoolmates, which include
Bill Goodwin, Sue Hipps, Mar
garet Johnston, Vance MlcCown,
Patricia Parker and Wiley White
and the brownies and the fairies,
they do find the “Spirit”.
Each pupil in the grade is in
the program.
