Brownlee, manager of the Tryon A&P store since May, 1932, has resigned to accept a position with his father-in-law, owner of the Carey Transfer & Storage Co. of Spartanburg. The change was effective today. Mr. Brownlee is being succeeded here by W. H. Jerman, manager of one of the Charlotte A&P stores. Mr. Jer man is married and will move here as soon as a suitable apartment is found. Mr. Brownlee has been active in civic affairs while making his home here. He was a director of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Methodist church and the Tryon Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Edsall at Lanier Club Tryon is fortunate to have the opportunity of hearing Dr. David Edsall at the Lanier club next week (Thursday). Dr. Edsall, since his retirement as dean of the Harvard Medical School, has been active in Red Cross work. He is at present Chairman of the Medi cal Advisory Board. It will be particularly interest ing at this time to have news of the Red Cross activities from one who is an authority.—Contributed. BUNTE TO SING HERE Louis F. Bunte of Spartanburg will sing a baritone solo, “Grant Me Dear Lord Deep Peace of Mind” by Stickles, at the 11 o’clock service of the Erskine Memorial Congregational church on Sunday.
