In dire desperation he gives the hand treatment again 'and the wing yields to his grip. The worst is over. The breast is sliced. White and dark meat and turkey dressing are placed on the plates. The last person around the table has been helped. Pa serves his own plate, cleans of accumulated debris on the table cover, wipes his hand and takes his seat. But there is no appetite.
