John Nelson Brown, 60, promi
nent farmer of the Tigerville sec
tion of Greenville County died at
his home on Landrum Route 2, at
6:30 o’clock Sunday morning fol
lowing an illness of two weeks.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Miss Hattie Barnette; one
son, Paul Brown and one daugh
ter, Mrs. Lois Hall, three grand
children, Dewey Hall, Shirley and
Charles Brown; two brothers, J.
E. and Dennis Brown, all of
Landrum, Route 2.
Mr. Brown was a life-long resi
dent of the Tigerville community,
and for the past 28 years was
superintendent of the Sunday
school at the Ebenezer Welcome
Baptist church. He was also

church at 2:30 o’clock Monday
afternoon with interment in the
church cemetery. The Rev. Broad

Gowan will officiate.
