trees were blown down and the
shrubbery was stripped of all
their leaves. The island sure was
a bleak looking place after the
storm. There were five deaths,
four occurred to fishermen at sea
who were unable to return to the
island. After seeing large pieces
of sheet meal, wooden boards,
cocoanut palm leaves, etc., flying
thru the air we were fortunate
not to have more casualties than
we did. After the storm everyone
kwent to work rebuilding and
pbleaning and now the island is
beginning to look shipshape again.
I see in the Bulletins where
Tryon produced another strong
football team and I’m certainly
proud to hear it. I hope they
continue the good work. Reading
about the games sure brings back
pleasant memories, also Seth in
the games, he must be a big fel
low now. I still remember when
he celebrated his fourth birthday
(wonder if he recalls the wonder
ful presents I used to wrap up,
and then see his disappointment
when he unveiled the packages of
