C, THURS., APRIL 3, 1941 Girl Scouts to Hold Court Os Awards Next Week Tryon Girl Scouts have been busy this winter working on va 3Lw°us merit badges in preparation the Court of Awards which will be held on Wednesday after noon, April 9 at Tryon School. Adams-Millis Players Have Completed Ball Park The Adams-Millis baseball men have just finished grading their new ball park in preparation for the opening of the Industrial League season on April 19. The new park will have a grandstand seating capacity of 300 and there will be ample room for parking of automobiles. The public is invited to watch the players practice. Entrance near the Howes bridge. Rotary Club Will Meet at Sunnydale Hon. Carroll P. Rogers will be the guest speaker at the Tryon Rotary club on Friday at 1 p. m. at Sunnydale. He will give a brief resume of the work of the recent session of the State As sembly. B. L. Ballenger will be in charge of the program. Baptist Brotherhood Meets On Friday Night The Tryon Baptist Brotherhood will meet on Friday, April 4th at 7 p. m. at the church dining room. m he nropram will be in charge of R. H. Brady. Golf Tournament Results In the mixed foursomes golf tournament at the Tryon Coun try club on Wednesday afternoon first place was won by Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Phipps 46-7-39. Sec ond place went to Mr. and Mr. M. B. Flynn,s 51-9-42. Third place resulted in a tie between Mrs. David Hedekin and Jack Kiim berly, 53-10-43 and Mrs. Jack Kimberly and J. C. Kimberlv. 58-15-43 There were twenty players in the tournament; and tea was served to 75 guests at the Club house. The same program will be put on next Wednesday with Mrs. George S. Jenks as hostess Bingo Party Next Tuesday At Oak Hall Hotel for The British War Relief Fund Lefty Flynn announces that a BIG Bingo party will be held at Oak Hlall Hotel on Tuesday, April Bth for thg benefit of the Brit ish War Relief Fund. Griggs Buy T. E. Brown Property on Lanier Street Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Griggs who sold their place on How ard Gap Road to Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Mitchell have purchased the house of Judge and Mrs. T. E.
