The ~ ball is given as one ors the social functions for exhibitors and visi tors in Tryon for the annual Horse Show. The floor show will feature Ter ry Woodcock, four-year-old artist. Others appearing will include Son ny Green, Barbara and Dolly Loughran, Geneva Gibbs, Eloise Martin, Doris Campbell, Eleaine Briggs, Jane Siler, Betty Hipps, Polly Clark, Carolyn Carter, Ir ma Frances Jeter, Louise Corn, Louise Jones, Nancy Shaw Green, Ann Wallace, Kathryn Hipps, Bil ly Ray DeVaull, Sue Jane Kram er, Marilyn Blomberg, Ginger Limbaugh, Sally Sumner, Jean Davis and Janice Young.—Ashe ville Citizen. Ml H°rs e and Hound Show On Air and in Movies The first radio broadcast from Tryon will be given from Har mon Field at the Horse Show over station WSPA, Spartanburg during Wednesday afternoon. This new improved station is new a member of the Columbia network. The first movie news of the Horse and Hound show will be made by a Pathe News camera man. Approximately 70 horses had entered in the Tryon Horse Shew early this morning. More will be coming in this afternoon and tonight as always. (The World’s Smallest Daily Newspaper) TRYON, N. C., TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 1941 $1.50 Year in the Carolinas Scout Honor Court Results Given The Polk County Boy Scout Court of Honor held in the Par ish House Monday night opened with prayer by Rev. Chas. L. Mc- Gavem, followed with the repeat ing of the Scout Oath. The following men served on the Court with R. H. Brady as chairman: Scout Executive R. M. Schiele, J. M. Baker, Robert Dick, G. I. Henderson, Lawrence Mas zanovich, M. B. Caldwell, Dr. Wil liam McCall, R. B. White, Rev. Chas. L. McGavern. Mrs. Schiele was the secretary. One of the highlights of the program was the making of fire by friction by Dick Arthur who passed his final tests for the Eagle rank. Scouts appearing before the Court for advancement were: Tenderfoot: Edward Beatson, Douglas Helms. Second Class: Joe Derby, Billy Dick. Merit Badges—Athletics: Spur geon Arledge, Harrison Bridge man, Phil Morris. Camping: Richard G. Arthur. Bird Study: Richard G. Arthur. Electricity: Bobby Dick. Life Scout Rank: Phil Morris.
