Est. 1-31-28 State Magazine Publishes “Double Truck” on Tryon Horse and Hound Show Editor Carl Goerch of the State Raleigh, visited the Horse and Hound Show for first time last week and this week’s issue of the State carries two pages about the community’s most outstanding event of the year. There are two columns cf news and six large pictures. The photos show Governor Broughton and party riding the tallyho around the show ring, Carroll P. Rogers broadcasting attended iby Charlie Lynch, Governor Brough ton and Captain Zogbaum. Three other pictures show scenes of the Horse Show and another of the Hound Show. Mr. Goerch says, “The Tryon people are noted for their hospi tality and they did everything within their power to make the occasion a pleasant one for every body. Incidentally, if anybody •,ver tells you that the folks up n the western part of the state don’t know how to prepare bar becue, don’t you believe a word of it. They served some barbe cue at the shew which was as fine as anybody could ever hope to prepare, and they cooked it for 24 hours before serviing it.” Mr. Goerch also writes of Har mon Field, “It’s one cf the most interesting, one of the most fas em "tin'’* and one of the most beau tiful scenes to be found in North Carolina.
